I think I saw an angel today.

I boarded Bus 2 to Lavender MRT.
A little girl kicked me from behind.
I glanced back, obviously annoyed.
"Sorry! Sorry!" she sang in a tune.
What an insincere apology, and I ignored her.

"Sorry! Sorry!..." she started singing again, profusely.
I turned around.
...
...
"It's okay." I replied with a smile.
When I alighted, my eyes were welled up with tears.

What I saw the whole time after I turned around to face the little uniformed girl was that, she was very bubbly, full of energy and was wearing this cute round pair of spectacles. However, what sets her apart from any other ordinary schoolgirls is that she is severely cross-eyed, and her actions and behaviour gives the indication that she probably has got some sort of disease that is similar to Down's.
But that didnt put her down. Through the mere 5 mins of observation, I could tell that she's enjoying herself so much in this dull bus ride, drawing attention to herself, not because she's different in appearance, but by her unreserved friendliness and zest for life.

I always, always used to say this "Those parents who know that they are impregnated with a foetus that has got congenital diseases or are handicapped should abort the baby, to prevent inconveniences to themselves as well as to spare the child the agony of being a social outcast in his/her future, especially when it comes to a time where parents can no longer help."
But after today, I'm not so sure.

Cuz I think I saw an angel today.
